Social Media & Networking

Welcome to our first “official” blog entry…

Dynamite Marketing has been developed with the aim to provide individuals and small business owners with useful information towards successfully marketing themselves online.

Before you can begin to earn money online, it’s important to realise that you can only do so by establishing the basics first, building the blocks so to speak, and one block at a time.

You need to develop an online identity. If people don’t know who you are, why would they want to buy from you? Whilst there are a number of ways to develop an online identity, the following is just one example.

Tip 1: Social Media & Networking…

The most popular types of social media include Facebook and Twitter.
These forms of social media are a personal and fun way to keep in touch with friends, reconnect with old friends, and even develop new friendships.

For the self employed and small business owners, social networking is an excellent and easy way (not to mention extremely cost effective) for prospective customers to find you, whilst also providing you with valuable access to network for new business contacts, both options allow you to easily communicate and build relationships. Social media is about “getting people interested in you so that they will want to know more about you.”

To effectively gain followers, be sure to create and complete an informative profile, including both personal and professional details, doing so will ensure that people with similar interests can easily find you. Also be sure to include a profile picture, if a prospective customer or business contact can put a face to your name, you instantly create credibility for yourself.

Facebook and Twitter also allow you to provide your contact details, and even direct link people to your blogsite or website, if you have one.

N.B.  Before you promote yourself and/or business name on any social networking site, make sure you check out the terms & conditions and privacy statement for each site, as they may vary slightly, and they are there to protect “you” and the rest of its users.

Suggestion… use your personal name for the main Facebook page, as you can create a separate Facebook fan page using your business name to promote your business. Think of your main Facebook page as the parent account, and the fan page as the child account.
